šŸ“A Wicked mistake...

Did you hear that?! It's a collective gasp.

Mattel sent thousands of Wicked dolls to store shelves.

Sounds harmless, right?

Wrongā€¦ish.

So, Mattel is capitalizing on the buzz around the Wicked movie by stocking shelves with Glinda, Elphaba, and other character dolls.

The only problem is there was a misprint.

Honestly, you probably wouldnā€™t have noticed it unless you took action.

The ā€œactionā€ being visiting their website.

Well, people who did that were shocked.

And not the good kind you feel at your surprise party.

However, people were seeing birthday suitsā€¦

The URL they included on the packaging, wicked dot com, mistakenly sent people to a porn website owned by Wicked Pictures.

The right URL is wickedmovie.com (I promise this oneā€™s OK to click).

One word made a HUGE difference.

Listen, mistakes happen.

We all make them. This one just so happened to be on a global scale.

But the takeaway is to give your content multiple passes before publishing.

Step away from your work and look beyond the grammar when you return to it.

Go over it with a fine-tooth comb.

Review your image descriptions, verify your header tags, and check and test your links.

Make sure the UTMs are in place and, most importantly, youā€™re sending users to the right place.

You can never be too sure before you share something with the world.
