šŸ“I'm making some changes

The Lunch BreakšŸ“ will look a little different

I started The Lunch BreakšŸ“because I love writing.

That third-grade creative writing class sent me down a path I never looked back on.

Iā€™m hooked.

So, with a love for writing, I put my idea out there.

We took our first Lunch Break on August 5, 2024, and for the most part, minus a few long weekends and the holiday break, I published every weekday at 12 p.m. EST.

When I tell you I love this newsletter, I mean it.

Iā€™ve never felt more creative and excited in my career.

But, as with most things in life, you set out with a grandiose plan, and as time passes, you realize there are other routes you can take.

The destination remains, but how you get there looks a little different.

Thatā€™s whatā€™s happening with The Lunch Break šŸ“

Iā€™m not giving it up. Iā€™m just approaching it differently.

Instead of a daily email, weā€™ll enjoy our lunch breaks together on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays with a focus on writing, social media, and email marketing.

Why the change?

A daily email was a lofty mission.

Iā€™d like to think I handled it well, but zooming out at the end of last year made me realize I was all over the map.

Scrambling to publish on time and struggling to find daily topics became more of a chore.

The more I researched and listened to the pros, the more I realized that:

  1. I was on a fast track to burnout.

  2. I need to niche down to write better content.

  3. Iā€™ll alienate certain subscribers when I talk about topics they donā€™t care about.

I know this has been an ā€œall about meā€ email, but really, Iā€™m spilling these beans because I want this to be all about helping you

So, starting Monday, January 6, weā€™ll meet three times a week to talk all things writing, social media (mainly LinkedIn & Threads), and email marketing

Hereā€™s to a new plan and a New Year!
