Smart takes. Great questions. Even some banter between commenters.

You think, This is awesome.

But the creator?
Silent.

Not one reply. Not even a thumbs up!!

That’s a missed opportunity.

Here’s my two cents: if someone takes the time to comment on your content, the least you can do is respond.

And it’s not just about manners, it’s about momentum.

Comments are compounding interest for your content.

Every reply, whether from another user or your response to one, keeps the post alive.

It nudges it higher in the feed to pull more attention to it.

If you’re serious about building on LinkedIn, responding to comments on your posts is a big part of your growth for a few reasons:

  • It extends the lifespan of your post in the feed.

  • It shows you’re an engaged user (you don’t just post and ghost).

  • It makes people want to come back.

Your turn

Next time you post, reply to every comment within the first hour.

Not just “thanks” (although that’s better than nothing!!).

Dig a little deeper.

  • Ask a follow-up question.

  • Probe their perspective.

  • Start a real conversation.

Because your audience isn’t just watching what you post.

They’re watching how you show up.

And both matter more than you think.
