I consider myself a runner, so I’m always looking for new gear. The runner influencers I follow led me to Feetures and a genius line of copy:

âťť

Focus on birdies, not blisters…

Perfection.

It’s this week’s I Wish I Thought of That Thursday feature for a few reasons:

  1. It’s creative, not confusing.

Sometimes, when brands try to get creative, cutesy even, they overshadow the message.

Feetures nailed it by adding a creative flare to concisely and clearly provide context for their product.

They balanced wit with clarity and delivered sharp copy with no over-the-top fluff.

  1. I’m a sucker for alliteration.

I love alliteration. It creates a rhythmic flow that keeps your attention.

This quick quip is a great example of clearly connecting the dots between golfing success (birdies) and the comfort their socks bring (avoiding blisters).

  1. Balances aspirations and frustrations.

I know it’s only one line of copy with five words, BUT, it stirs feelings inside:

  • Aspiration: When you hit the links, you want to play well. Birdies are part of the equation.

  • Frustration: Blisters will ruin even the best round of golf.

The secret sauce for writing copy that converts is tapping into the emotions we feel regularly.

When we feel something, we do something.

Keep these three tips in mind when writing your next big idea!

That’s all for today!
