When I read that in Shaan Puri’s Small Boy email, my head lowered, not in a somber manner, more like, my eyesight’s not great, but that can’t be right kind of way, so I had to get a closer look.

I read it correctly.

Granted, this revelation was discovered in 2018, but still.

He used the Notes app.

Now, I LOVE notes, but I’m not running a multi-billion dollar company from it (yet…?).

I’m using it to make grocery lists, keep track of my kids heights and weights, and write down random thoughts that I’ll turn into an email or LinkedIn post.

But, the more I dug into his why the more it made sense.

His explanation was simple:
