Does your mind always go to fitness when you hear accountability partner?

Mine does.

But now, LinkedIn pops into my head, too.

We all know engagement matters, but without someone checking in with you to make sure you’re actually doing it, it’s easy for it to slip down on your priority list.

Meet Your LinkedIn Accountability Partner

My LinkedIn accountability partner isn’t a human.

It’s the built-in weekly sharing tracker on your profile.

This little section keeps track of your posts, comments, and contributions.

Here’s mine from this past week:

Here’s how to find yours:

  1. Go to your profile.

  2. Scroll to your Analytics section.

  3. Click “Show all analytics,” and it’s the second section.

Take a look at yours. How’d you do this week?

Why This Matters

LinkedIn loves engagement.

The more consistent you are, the more you’re rewarded.

Yes, posting is important.

But, commenting is just as, if not more, important in my opinion.

I see both as the yin and yang of social media. Striking a balance helps elevate your profile so you can connect with more people.

Lately, I’ve noticed LinkedIn slip in the impressions count on comments too.

That’s something to keep an eye on as comments continue to be opportunities for you to expand your reach.

Your Turn

This week, use your weekly sharing tracker as your accountability partner.

Set a goal. It could be leaving 3 - 5 comments a day and posting three times a week.

Check in with it daily to make sure you’re staying on track.

As John C. Maxwell says, “Consistency compounds.”
