As we scroll, we consume content within milliseconds.

Inc. found that 81% of people skim the content they read online.

Thatā€™s why our content needs to work with this skimmer mentality.

People want to extract the most value with the least amount of effort.

Mirror this mindset with the way you structure your LinkedIn content.

For starters, realize that every sentence serves a purpose.

Think of them like mental stepping stones.

They help readers move from start to finish.

Why does this matter on LinkedIn?

Everyoneā€™s vying for attention.

Your posts are opportunities to show off your expertise and create connections with people.

Theyā€™re not there to fill up space.

By understanding how people consume content, you can tweak yours to transform their scrolling into meaningful engagement.

Your Move

Look at your LinkedIn posts.

Do they have big chunks of text? If they do, go through and rework them.

Get rid of filler words.

Chop big sentences down into shorter ones.

Add spaces between them.

Create a flow to take people from the first sentence of your post to the last.
