🍴I Wish I Thought of That Vol. 2

Google Ads pettiness or greatness?

I’m an unorganized organized person.

That makes no sense, but I think it’s the perfect description.

Do I get my stuff done? Yep.

Is it done in the most efficient way? Absolutely not.

So, with my self-awareness in the driver’s seat, I started looking for tools to reign myself in and get organized.

David Almodovar, a Managing Partner at the Almodovar Group, suggested I check out Trello.

Because David’s someone I trust, I did some research that started with a simple Google search:

“trello”

To my very surprise, up popped possibly the pettiest but absolutely amazing ad by monday.com.

âťť

“monday.com is So Much Better | Objective Comparison Here”

My mouth opened as I leaned back in my chair in awe.

This…

This was a bold move, but I kinda loved it?

Here’s why

  • It’s aggressive. Sometimes you have to bring the heat in marketing. BUT, you have to do it in a sophisticated way. I think they achieved it.

  • I love how they kind of tamper yet fan the flame by highlighting it’s an “objective comparison.” I think that made it feel a little less aggressive and made monday a little more approachable.

  • The message is clear and relevant. If you’re looking up “Trello” you’re looking for an organizational tool to help you manage projects. Their copy mirrors the consumers’ interest.

What do you think of monday.com's tactic? Do you like it?
