🍴Step away from the screen

👀👀👀

In a past email, I gave you some advice: 🍴Don't dam your ideas.

Instead, I wanted you to let the words flow while writing the first draft.

Now, I want you to step away, X out of the tab (make sure your work’s saved), and move on to something else.

Think of the first draft like a steak.

You have to let it rest before cutting and serving.

Give your draft time to rest before revisiting it.

The second pass is when the real work’s done.

When I reread my content, I sometimes question my intellect, wonder what I was trying to say, and occasionally give myself a pat on the back.

But, every time, I always find ways to remove the fluff and tighten my writing.

This may seem like a “no-brainer” piece of advice, but sometimes, the simplest advice is the most powerful.

Write your your content, step away, and come back.

There’s no editor quite like a set of fresh eyes 👀
