🍴 The 5-minute LinkedIn post formula
Five minutes. Five steps.
307 words ⬇️
How many times have you had an idea for a LinkedIn post, but when it comes time to actually write it, you clam up and freeze?
I get it.
I’ve spent years building my LinkedIn profile, and now I help CEOs and Founders build theirs.
I have a secret for you. You don’t need hours to write posts that people want to read.
You just need five minutes and a formula.
Here it is.
The Five-Minute Formula
1. Pick a real moment.
Think of something that happened to you last week. A win? A hiccup? A random thought you had in a meeting? A breakthrough? Something like, “We welcomed our 10th employee to the team.”
2. The moment it hit you.
Talk honestly about it. It’s the gut punch (could be good or bad). Don’t use jargon, just raw emotion. “When it was official, I had one of those 'wow' moments. Five years ago, it was just me. Now, I’m surrounded by 10 insanely talented people.”
3. The takeaway.
This is where you answer the question, “So what?” Zoom out on the story. What’s the lesson you can share? “This milestone made me see that building this business and my team isn’t about growth but trust.”
4. The nudge.
End your post with a call to action or a nudge to get people thinking. “What was a recent ‘wow’ moment you had as a business owner?”
5. The final touches.
Now that you have these pieces, polish it. Read it out loud. Cut anything that feels clunky or forced. This isn’t a corporate memo. Keep it light!
Your Turn
Try this formula out for yourself. Set a timer for five minutes and run through these five steps.
Don’t put pressure on yourself. Just write. You’re sharing your experience. Speak from your POV and see what happens!
