Insight from the GOAT

228 words ⬇️

Out of 700 passes in a season, Tom Brady said only 10–20 were perfect.

That means 680 were imperfect.

And, we’re talking about THE GOAT here.

He shared this on his episode of the IMPAULSIVE podcast, and naturally, my mind went straight to LinkedIn.

Because here’s the truth:

Not every post will land (I’ve posted my fair share of duds).
Not every idea will stick
Some will hit. Most don’t.

But like Brady’s throws, the reps are what matter.

It’s all about consistency and being willing to show up daily, even when your throws aren’t on target.

So why do so many of us wait for “the perfect post”?

Why do we overthink, overedit, and sit on good-enough ideas trying to make them viral?

Brady threw 680 imperfect passes in a season, and he’s still the greatest.

What makes us think our posts have to be flawless?

The truth is: perfection is the enemy of greatness.

Here are three reasons imperfect posts still matter:

  1. Even a post with under 10 likes still shows up in feeds and keeps you top of mind.

  2. Posting is active learning. You’ll figure out what topics, hooks, and formats work best for your audience.

  3. Consistency in posting and commenting compounds into authority.

You’re not aiming for perfect, you’re building momentum.

And, on LinkedIn, momentum wins.
