šŸ“Are you doing this on LinkedIn?

It's just as important as content creation.

I donā€™t want that to feel like a clickbait subject line, so Iā€™m jumping right in.

Are you taking the time to leave comments on other peopleā€™s LinkedIn content?

If you are, great! Keep doing it!

If youā€™re not, now is the perfect time to start.

If youā€™re thinking, nice, another thing to add to my to-do list.

Donā€™t worry. This isnā€™t a heavy lift.

Hereā€™s how I do it. I think it can help you build the habit.

My LinkedIn Commenting Routine

Every weekday morning, I spend around five minutes scrolling through my feed and leaving comments on peopleā€™s posts.

This is like my commenting starter because, throughout the day, Iā€™ll go back and leave more comments when I have a few minutes to spare.

My Suggestion to Build Your LinkedIn Commenting Habit

I suggest adding a five-minute meeting on your calendar for the same time every weekday. Pick a time you can stick with.

That way, you wonā€™t forget because youā€™ll get a calendar notification.

This will help you get into a routine.

Then, once you get used to commenting at your determined time, add a few more minutes throughout the day to do it again.

Why I Comment on Peopleā€™s Posts

I comment on peopleā€™s posts for a few reasons.

Here are the top three:

  1. If I want people to engage with my posts, I need to comment on other peopleā€™s content. Engagement is like a boomerang. What you give out, you *should* get back. Reciprocity, baby!

  2. I follow insanely talented and smart people. Their posts get my creative juices flowing and spark my own content creation. Plus, I love commenting on their posts to boost their reach. They deserve it.

  3. Building on the last point, I often turn my comments on other peopleā€™s content into my own posts. Check outšŸ“Comments are Content for details on how to do this!
