🍴Turn your long-form content into LinkedIn posts

Here's the exact framework I use

In partnership with

You know what's crazy? You might already have your next few months of LinkedIn posts right in front of you.

That blog you spent hours on? The eBook you published last year? That's your pillar content, and you've already done the hard part.

Here's the filter I use when I want to turn pillar content into a LinkedIn post.

The most important thing to note is that you’re going to pull from three parts of what you already wrote:

  1. The intro

  2. The body

  3. The close

Here's what to do with each:

  • From your intro: Extract the main message. What's the one thing this piece is really about?

  • From your body: Highlight the core takeaway. What's the one thing people need to remember?

  • From your close: Decide on the purpose. Are you teasing them to read more, or giving them the full story here?

    • If it's a teaser, hint at what's inside and include a link in the comments.

    • If it's standalone, deliver the full punch, then add a soft CTA like "I share more like this every [day/timeframe] in my newsletter."

The whole point of this exercise is that you’re not rewriting anything. You're just pulling the best parts and reshaping them for LinkedIn.

Here's how I'm using the newsletter you're reading right now for a LinkedIn post this week.

Step 1: Extract the main message from my intro

"If you've already created something long-form (a newsletter, blog, webinar, podcast), you've done the hard part. That's your pillar content."

Step 2: Highlight the core takeaway from my body

"To make it LinkedIn-ready, pull from three parts:

  • Intro → one clear hook

  • Body → one core takeaway

  • Close → one clause that positions it as a teaser or a standalone."

Step 3: Adjust my close for LinkedIn (soft CTA or standalone)

"That's how you turn pillar content into a LinkedIn post in under 15 minutes. I share more step-by-step playbooks like this every week in my newsletter."

My Final LinkedIn Post (standalone version):

What if your next LinkedIn post is already written?

If you’ve created something long-form like a newsletter, blog, webinar, or podcast, you've done the hard part. That's your pillar content.

To make it LinkedIn-ready, all you have to do is pull from what you already have:

  1. From your intro: Extract the main message.
What's the one thing this piece is really about?

  2. From your body: Highlight the core takeaway.
What's the one thing people need to remember?

  3. From your close: Decide on the purpose.
Are you teasing them to read more, or giving them the full story here?

If it's a teaser, hint at what's inside and include a link in the comments.

If it's standalone, deliver the full punch, then add a soft CTA like "I share more like this every [day/timeframe] in my newsletter."

This is how I turn my pillar content into a LinkedIn post in under 15 minutes.

I use this exact approach with my clients as well.

For Capital Markets Dad, I took a newsletter I wrote about three ways to save your mental energy and restructured it into a LinkedIn carousel.

Notice how the framework is the same:

  • Intro: sets up the idea (mental energy is limited)

  • Body: delivers the three ways to save it

  • Close: reminder and soft CTA (subscription nudge)

It's the same message, just reshaped so it works on LinkedIn.

That's the full cycle.
